Metro Travel Tips
Navigate city rail like a pro.
Always buy a rechargeable card (MRT Card, EZ-Link, RapidPass, etc.) — cheaper than single-journey tokens and no queuing.
Rush hours (7–9 AM, 5–8 PM) are extremely crowded. If possible, travel before 7 AM or after 8 PM for a comfortable ride.
Each metro system has an official app for route planning. For Dhaka MRT: DMTCL app. For Bangkok: BTS SkyTrain or Google Maps.
Large luggage is generally not recommended during peak hours. Use airport express lines (e.g. Dhaka BIA MRT, Singapore Changi MRT) for airport transfers.
All modern metro systems have lifts and priority seating. Dhaka MRT Line 6 is fully accessible. Look for the blue accessibility symbol.
Check interchange stations — Bangkok MRT/BTS connect at Asok/Sukhumvit; KL connects LRT/MRT at KL Sentral. Plan one-transfer routes to save time.
